How to order
Wattle & Slate is a fully customisable fabrics supplier, meaning you choose the design, the base, the quantity, and we work our magic to bring you exactly what you want. We run our designs in 'rounds' (R) - each round has around 8-12 designs which can be printed on any of our 11 fabric bases.
Once all preorders are fulfilled, any remaining fabric will be listed under the retail section of our website. This will be in extremely limited quantities and may not include all designs or all bases.
Timelines for delivery
Pre-orders take 8-12 weeks from the closing date of each round. There may occasionally be delays due to circumstances outside our control. We recommend that you do not make firm commitments with our fabrics until you have them in hand.
If pre-order items are ordered at the same time as retail (in-stock) items, the in-stock items will be held until pre-order arrives at W&S HQ. If you wish to receive your in stock items first, please place separate orders.
Wash and fabric care information
We recommend washing fabrics prior to use. Prewash on a cold or warm wash (40°) with like colours, using colour catchers in the unlikely event of colour run. Subsequent wash cycles should be cold/warm. Shrinkage of up to 5% may occur with cotton-based fibres.
PUL and laminated minky Do not use fabric softeners, oxy or bleach products. Do not iron. Please note that while our PUL and LM can be washed up to 60°, we recommend you wash at 40° as washing at a lower temperature will likely extend the lifespan of fabrics.
Bamboo Lycra is a soft, delicate fabric and care should be taken during your wash routine. We recommend a cold wash and tumble dry on air or very low only.
Our shipping charges are dependant on weight. All orders under 2kg are sent Royal Mail second class £2.00/£3.50 large letter/small parcel (UK) or Royal Mail tracked and/or signed (international). We are fully insured to ship worldwide. Orders over 2kg are sent via courier. For international orders over 2kg please contact us for an individual shipping quote.
If you would like to add to an existing pre-order please use the code COMBINE during checkout and it will remove shipping costs. If your new parcel exceeds the shipping bracket we will invoice you for the additional cost of postage. Please add your original invoice number to the notes section of your subsequent orders, failure to do so means we may need to charge you for additional parcels. If you add more of a previously ordered fabric base and need it cut as a continuous length, please contact us.
Please ensure your address is correct if paying via PayPal as we are only able to ship to that address.
Any shipping overages +£2 will be refunded.
We are able to combine orders, please use the code COMBINE at the check out, making sure to include your previous order number in the notes section. If your order ticks over into the next weight category for shipping you will be invoiced prior to it being posted.
Cancellation, returns and refund policy
We want you to be 100% happy with your decision to order from us. If you change your mind during pre-order, please let us know at least 24 hours before the closing date. Due to the nature of our pre-order process, once an order has been sent to the printer we are unable to cancel it. Instead, it should be treated in line with our returns policy. Our returns policy lasts 14 days. For goods in hand, in order to be eligible for a refund the item(s) must be returned in the same condition they arrive (i.e. unwashed and uncut). Shipping costs are non-refundable and proof of postage will be required. All refunds will be issued back to the original payment method and will be actioned within two days of cancelling/receiving the items. Please note it may take up to five working days to clear with your bank.
Fabric flaws policy
We aim to catch any flawed pieces of fabric during the cutting process but some may be missed. Please inspect your fabric when it arrives and notify us within seven days of any issues. Please note that minor print flaws, as outlined below, will be sent out to customers in line with our minimising waste policies.
Marks that are on the back of fabric which cannot be seen from the front and do not affect the use, marks that are within 10cm of the selvedge line, or than can be hidden under a 5p coin, are classed as normal according to custom printed fabric and will not ordinarily be refunded or exchanged. Print colours may appear slightly different to your screen, may print differently when comparing polyester to cotton/bamboo bases, and can vary between print runs.
